Icelandic and Shetland Sheep
Icelandic and Shetland Sheep
Our Icelandic and Shetland lamb is all grass fed. The meat is very tender and full of flavor. We slaughter typically only once a year, and usually in March. We only sell by the half or whole at this time.
We charge $8.25 per pound hang weight. The processing is $100 for a whole or $50 for a half. That is in addition to the hang weight cost.
This year (2023) we have one lamb that is approximately 120 pounds hoof weight. We have six that are approximately 60# hoof weight. Lamb will hang out at approximately 54% of hoof weight.
The actual cost will be determined at time of slaughter once hang weight has been determined.
To help give you a general idea of cost:
A cut sheet is provided for you to detail how you would like the processor to cut your meat. (See downloads below.) It will be hard frozen for vehicle transport. At this time, we are unable to ship.
The processor is in Centre, Alabama. I will be driving to Centre to pick up our lamb so if you are close to the Oneonta, Alabama area I will be happy to transport it for you to our farm for pick up on the same day.
We request a deposit for the cost of the processing only to hold your lamb. Once hang weight has been determined, payment for the lamb will be required prior to pick up of the meat.
We accept payment via cash, check, Venmo (add 1.7% fee) or Credit Card (add 1.7% fee). A full invoice will be sent to you for payment.
