RAM (STUD) Lease- NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

3 Peaks Farm is pleased to announce  our ram lease program. Each ram listed below is available for breeding.  The stud fee is specified under each ram and is based upon a single session of breeding to no more than three ewes.   As we may also be using the ram for our breeding program, we require the ewes to be transported to our farm for the breeding season.  The rams all wear marking harnesses which enables us to provide you with a good estimate of due date.  Board is $30 per week per ewe (grass hay, water, minerals, shelters and general care) and is in addition to the breeding fee. Any veterinary care for the ewe needed while at our facility will be charged to the owner of the ewe and will be provided by our veterinarian, Heather Davis, DVM of Colorado Ranch Vet.  

Each ewe will be required to have a health check by a veterinarian and will need to be up to date on vaccinations, certified as clean on worms and parasites, and provide a clean brucellosis test.  We do have breeding contracts which will be sent to you for review.

Each ram will have a limit to the number of ewes it will service each breeding season.  A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 will be required to reserve your spot. The balance of the breeding and boarding fees are due in full upon arrival.  The typical stay for ewes is four weeks in order to hit two cycles.  

3 Peaks Farm has nine separate breeding pens in order to eliminate the possibility of fence breeding and the protection of the sheep.  We have water and shelter for each breeding pen.  

3 Peaks Farm employs burros as our "protection squad".  The squad is kept outside and surrounding the pens.  We like to keep our sheep safe.

Reservations are on a first come first serve basis and will be confirmed upon receipt of a non-refundable $100.00 deposit.

GUARANTEE - 3 Peaks Farm will guarantee a successful breeding based on ultrasound.  Ultrasound of the ewe must be completed in February by a veterinarian following the breeding.  If there is no evidence of a fetus in the ultrasound, 3 Peaks Farm will provide a rebreeding to the same ram, if available, the next season.  If the ram you originally chose is no longer available, 3 Peaks Farm will provide a rebreeding to another ram which we will discuss with you as the best fit for your ewe.  A veterinarian will need to certify the ultrasound.  Boarding fees are not included in the guarantee.
